June 2008 - NorthShore Kitchens Plus, Inc.,
of Marblehead recently made a donation to the American Heart
Association, specifically earmarked toward the Youth
Education, Nutrition and Exercise Program.
“When researching the organization,
the youth program was of great interest to me,” said
Dempsey, “if you can educate a child in their formative
years on nutrition, exercise and food group choices, you
just might make a difference for their entire lives”.
AHA provides educational materials about
nutrition and physical activity to about one-third of our
nation’s elementary schools. “Obesity and diabetes in on the
rise in children, this type of program has proven effective
and fun for young children. This donation will go directly
toward teaching more than 1,200 children how to take control
of their health,” said Abdella, Business Development
Director for the American Heart Association.
